spock: logic is sexy

Um, I got nominated for stuff?

I had no idea this happened until mariole congratulated me and several other nominees in her journal. It's kind of unexpected since I don't think of myself as much of a Spock/Uhura writer. I wrote a lot about them when the movie first came out, but it feels like a long time since I've written a story featuring either of them, much less both of them romantically together. (Although some of you might have accidentally gotten a preview of my action!Uhura wip when I forgot to lock it a minute ago...)

Anyway, Not Her Body, But Her Life got nominated for best drama, and Surak and Socrates Want You to Masturbate was nominated for both best threesome (even though it does not technically contain a threesome) and best one-shot. I am particularly happy about that one since Surak and Socrates is one of my favorite stories, and also one of the hardest I can remember writing.
*rolls about laughing* I totally look like that -- inside my HEAD. But, or rather, and, thank you. :)

Congratulations! I find both Not Her Body, But Her Life and Surak and Socrates Want You to Masturbate to be awesome. (And Surak and Socrates inspired my first Gaila-pov fic and I'm certain still influences how I think of her.)

BTW the category is "Best Angst"! (Um, I may have nominated you for that one, though I'm sure I wasn't alone in that. I hope you don't mind!)

PS A Letter Concerning Toleration is my favorite reboot Spock character study ever, but it's not Spock/Uhura so I couldn't nominate it for anything except my favoriteness. :)
Argh. Sorry it took me awhile to answer this. Comment notification issues and all...

Anyway, thank you so much for the nomination - of course I don't mind! Honestly, everything you've said here is so kind that I'm a bit at a loss for how to convey how much it means to me. And thank you so much for remembering "A Letter Concerning Toleration" too - that little fic is really close to my heart.
The nice thing about stories is that they remain out there as long as they're posted for people to enjoy. I certainly enjoyed your ST explorations, and hope other people will discover them as well.

We all move on to new interests, so part of my ulterior motive in publishing the nominee names was to send a shout-out to people who might not visit the comm much any more. I'm so glad it worked. "Surak and Socrates" is a wonderful fic! (as are all of them...)
Hee! Thank you for the heads-up. I actually had actually filtered all the comms out of my watch list because RL was so busy, so I probably wouldn't have known if you had pointed it out.

*blushes* I'm glad you've been enjoying my stories.
