starwars: leia aim

Hello!

While I was out of town last weekend, I got quite a few new friend notifications from LJ. That was exciting, but I don't know who you are! If you would like to introduce yourself and be friended back, please stop by and say hello.

Here are some miscellaneous things about me:

- I am a fannish omnivore, but my interests skew toward superheroes and outer space.
- Regardless of the fandom, I am all about celebrating the ladies!
- Star Wars was my first fandom, even though I was too young at the time to know what that meant. I used to love "boy" shows, but I would get so sad when the one female character never got to do anything. I was in love with Princess Leia from the moment she picked up a blaster.
- Veronica Mars is my forever love, and I keep writing fics even though there aren't a lot of people to read them. Star Trek XI was my first real fandom, and I long for it the way you remember your first perfect teenage love.
- IRL I am a high school English teacher. I post about this fairly often, but only under flock.
- I am maybe just a tad bit obsessed with food, and I am learning how to balance my love of eating with my love of not having heart disease or diabetes.
- Travel is my other big passion, but I am absolutely terrible about making travel write-ups and photo posts.
- I made a vapid but nonetheless enjoyable New Year's resolution to try out a new beauty tutorial from YouTube every week

Stop by and say hi if you'd like!
Hi

I tried to send you a message when I friended you but I think I messed up (at least the message I thought I'd sent is now appearing as a comment by your username which is super-wierd and I need to figure out how to get rid of it). Anyway I already follow you on AO3 for your MCU stuff and when someone on my list pointed towards your Star Wars comment meme, I realised you were here as well and so decided to follow.

I'm not exactly an omnivore, if only because I'm time-pressured and that really limits what I end up viewing. Within that I like a lot of stuff, but seem to skew towards late 70s/early 80s British TV SF. I mostly post fannish stuff to lsellersfic (or annariel on Dreamwidth) but I post Dr Who reviews and regular family stuff to this account (and I read from this account so its the one that does all the friending).

Ah, this would be the badly misnamed "Add a note" when you add someone as a friend. Logically one would assume that meant "add a note to the person I am friending with this friend request" but NO, instead it means "add a note next to this person's name in my list." Tres stupid. To get rid of it, go to Manage friends and then I think you should be able to find their name and remove the note.

Bad LJ. Bad bad bad.
Nice to meet you! No worries about the message - it most likely would have gotten lost in my email folder since I was on a work trip all last weekend. Anyway, I friend you back!
I will always love Veronica Mars. I really hope they make another movie!
Hello! Just saw a post on my feed about a new round of heroinebigbang and immediately thought of you. Open to all fandoms and a variety of flexible word counts. Sounds right up your alley!
I already friended you a while ago (October), but I think maybe you weren't interested in friending me back?

I'm still around, anyway. *g*
Oh! Sorry! My work schedule starts getting insane in October - I normally work six days a week, plus I travel for work twice a month. When life gets that hectic, it's easy to miss things like LJ comments and new friend notifications. Thanks for stopping by! It's nice to finally meet you :)
