Today, Six Scenes from the Life of a Bad Ass, Bald Navigation Officer surpassed 10,000 hits on AO3. I've never had a story do that before, so it's exciting -- even if it's also a little baffling, since no one ever leaves kudos or comments or bookmarks on it. Not that I'm complaining. It's actually pretty awesome (and sadly surprising) that a story about a female character of color who has no speaking lines could get that many hits.
Congrats! That is indeed a milestone.

I've had a couple of stories suddenly shoot up in the hit department compared to the kudos and comments that are being left, so I know how you feel. But I figure as long as those hits keep coming word seems to be getting around (or else a dedicated small number of people keeps re-reading the things...) so I'm good.
It does say "Comments: 9 Kudos: 88 Bookmarks: 23." But you're right, that's not many out of 10K! Still, pretty cooll to get that many eyes on something you wrote. I've noticed that AO3 doesn't seem to spur as many comments as, say, a fest on LJ; I don't know why. I try to always leave a comment when I read something there, just as encouragement...

Congratulations! That is an amazing milestone and I'm very happy to see that particular story of yours gain that recognition. :D
