sherlock: three patch problem

I am a defaulting defaulter

I just defaulted on Yuletide. I am bummed about it, but with all the bad health news we've had in our family of late, I am not really in the frame of mind to come home and write a story -- at least, not the story that my recipient wanted. It was going to be a dystopian remix of the Snow Queen, and I loved my idea for it, but it's just not something I can do right now. I feel like fandom stocking or some other little giftlet thing is more my pace this year.

In happier news, my sister, who works for a Belgian company, is expecting to be transferred to Belgium sometime this year. The boy and I have decided to take a super cheap honeymoon this summer and then save like fiends to visit her and wander around France next summer. I have been to Paris three times, but the boy has never been, so that will be a definite must-see. I want to visit a wine region too. My new year's resolution is to not buy any new clothes in 2014 and to put my shopping money into our travel fund.
That's understandable. There will be someone else writing a story for your match--and excited to do it. If you want, you can still write the story and submit it as a New Years fic, once things get sorted.

I think fandom stocking ficlets is a great idea. Go sign yourself up for a stocking, too.

Sounds like a great prompt, but I can see why dystopias aren't something that you'd want to wade into at the moment.

Yay for Belgium!!! Think of Hercule Poirot :)
