spock: logic is sexy

a multifandom pride meme

This is an all-fandom request meme centered around the theme of positive sexuality attitudes. This includes coming-out stories, rights fights, straight supporters, anything as long as the topic has to do with perception of sexuality, and focuses on good experiences rather than bad ones.

I haven't left any prompts yet, but I am contemplating them. Leave me some Star Trek or Torchwood ones to fill?

ETA: This is what I just left.

Tired of students spreading rumors about his sexuality, Remus Lupin finally just tells them the truth: he's gay.

This has nothing to do with me. At all. Or that fact that I recently informed my boyfriend that I will probably lose it at school one day and tell a student that when they say disparaging things about queer people, they are insulting me.
That is such an excellent apology for, like, every day I ever go to work. I should just say it to myself every morning: one or more of my students will be an asshat.
Probably something we should all say to ourselves every morning: Today, some person or people I interact with will be an asshat.

Tragically.
Oh good. I thought it was just my students being asshats.

(and making homophobic slurs)
I'm not really sure what your preferred method of support-offering is (offering to do your taxes? virtual baked goods?), and as I don't really think I can fill the HP prompt you left with any sort of alacrity, I'll just offer to fill a random STXI prompt if you post any.
:( I too am sorry for the rampant asshattery.

(TOS!Spock demonstrates his preferred method of dealing with the aforementioned.)
Or that fact that I recently informed my boyfriend that I will probably lose it at school one day and tell a student that when they say disparaging things about queer people, they are insulting me.

God damn but I wish you could do that tomorrow. I wish I could get you a job at my school with our GSA and our continual battle against the use of 'gay' as an insult.
It's a battle in my classroom too, but I usually win it by the end of the year (by which I mean they know not to say it within earshot).

I had to turn down the GSA job at my school (rather sadly) because I already have a massive team of my own. Luckily, my boyfriend was able to step up to the plate instead :)
And at least some will probably think about why that usage is wrong to at all.

So, prompts.

Three people Leonard McCoy wanted to marry (his first boyfriend, Jocelyn, Jim).* <-- I was thinking of something you said once about McCoy here.

Two characters enlist a third's help in modifying wedding vows for a same-sex couple. (Any fandom.)

I thought I had more but I'm kind of groggy (I'm only awake because the 2 year old keeps screaming.)
I keep trying to come up with a prompt where Neal from White Collar finds himself in a position where he can explain to someone that it does, in fact, get better.
Yeah, you're probably right. :) I just always worry about my phraseology with something like this, you know?
